...there were more games targeted toward girls. Japan has all these really neat "girly" games over there that never get translated and sold outside the country. Most of the girl games we get over here is something really dumb like Barbie crud. I was just wondering if I was the only one.

There are some really cute games from Japan that I'd like to play, but overall I'm pretty happy with what we're getting. There's always RPG Maker to make your own "girly" game .

I'm not a girl so I don't really know what a Girly game would be like, but as long as they ahve good stories in them i would be quite happy to try one XD, anything that can make me cry is a good story.

Ever since the release of The Sims series, though, I think game companies in North America have realized the untapped potential of the female gaming market.
I bet we'll be seeing a lot of games better targeted at females pretty soon. ^_-

I would hope so! Female-targeted games are the best! If only I could speak Japanese ...that would be great. I'd buy BTN:FG right away!

Hey, I'm a guy and I wish there were more girl-oriented games too! My best friends are girls who play video games, and it's hard to buy them new ones...

I don't mind the lack of girl-oriented video games, I just wish that more games would let you be a girl or have a girl as the main character. I do notice that there are quite a few games made for girls, but most of them are too girly or way too easy.
And this is kind of off-topic, but last week I read a couple of articles in the paper and on the internet and over 40% of gamers are girls.

I don't mind not having a lot of girl-oriented that much. I mean it's not like we mind playing as a guy. But it would be nice . . .

I think a videogame/animation developer would be great, it would be a whole company of very talented animation people and gaming people, and there name would be something like "Aurorai" and they would specialize in making different genres of girl games, such as a horror game like silent hill 3/fatal frame 2, an rpg like like ffx2/rhapsody, and sims like hm:fg and stuff. They would also make 3d movies like the new FF:advent children movie and some anime and manga about kick-ass girls, they would be in japan and make sure they translate every manga, anime, and game they make. Wouldnt that be so freaking cool?

hey no insulting to FF X-2!! and that stupid dress changing ability is actually a changing role ability, like from warrior to black mage, thus having hp status change etc. for your information!
i like rpgs, doesn't matter if it is intended for boys or girls...but in my opinion most boys rpgs are way too bloody for no good reason...and some girls rpgs are rather...mmm......childish........
that's why i love FF X-2!! i love complex storyline, gaming systems, and a lot of stuff that i can explore in the game~
