apparently it's a cross between pokemon and harvest moon. you raise a monster to protect the farm and such, not 100% sure though.
also not 100% sure here but you can chose to be male or female from the beginning! I hear that they are going to be making all future harvest moon games with this ability (the boy and girl pic on the page I think is who you can chose to be)
also here is a babelfish translation (just click 'Babelfish English Translation' in the middle cause it won't let me link babelfish) of a french website with pictures (if anyone can translate anything from the pics it would be great!) as well as ign having lots of info on it to!
ps. I'm really excited about this one, I LOVE capturing monsters and raising them, added with Harvest Moon this may be my fav in the series if all goes well!
