Sorry to say this, but who you are marrying doesn't really have anything to do with the topic.
So, to get back on topic, Kai does stay, as well as all the other guys that would normally leave except for Kappa (like the Gourmet Man and Cliff if you don't give him the job at the winery). I understand why Kappa leaves, though.
Oh, and after reading Ushi No Tane I'm surprised to see that Kai asks if it's all right to have his lodge open. If you say yes then it's open all year round, but if you say no then it won't be. I bet he still won't hold the kid, though, because Gray and the Doctor don't.
