For Cliff.
Black heart: Meet him at the church
Purple heart: At the churh at 6:00PM when he is finished working at the winery for the day, you do something with him and Carter.
Blue heart: When he is working at the winery visit him from 1:00 onwards, he then takes you to Mother's peak and give you the pressed flower and his heart turns yellow.
Orange heart: Go inside the Aja winery after 4:00PM, Manna and Duke will be talking and Cliff will walk in.

Rick.
Black: Go to the Poultry farm any time after Rick goes in, you will meet Rick.
Purple: Go to the Poultry farm any time after Rick goes in and there will be three eggs on the table, after some dialogue he gives you a golden egg.
Blue: Go inside the Poultry farm any time after Rick goes in and his mother should see you, Rick will then run over to you and give you his wristhingych, his heart will turn yellow.
Orange: Enter Dougs Place after 7:00PM and Rick will be eating there, you'll have some sort of date then Rick will take you home at 9:00PM.

Gray
Black: Go inside the Blacksmith and Gray and Saibara will be talking about something, he will then see you and ask you something, after you choose it the event stops after some diaglogue.
Purple: Go to the Inn after 4:00PM and go upstairs, Gray will talk to you for a while.
Blue: One morning when you exit your farmhouse Gray will appear and he will give you a Broach or something, his heart will turn yellow.
Orange: Not really sure about this one, enter the Blacksmith and he will ask you something.

Doctor
Black: Go inside the Clinic, you will meet the Doctor.
Purple: Go inside Ellen's house and Elli will be there, Elli will ask you if you'll come to the Clinic with her and Stu, you agree.
Blue: Go inside the Clinic, Elli will talk to you and you will talk to the Doctor, he will give you his Minus Ion thingy and his heart will turn yellow.
Orange: Enter the Clinic and the Doctor will ask you to take some medicine (I think) after you accept you will take the medicine and faint, the Doctor will help you.


I'm pretty sure there are a couple of other side events that aren't heartchanging. The same person said that for doctor he got 2 other events that help him/her marry Doctor ( a lake event and something else)

This person claims to have married Gray, Cliff, Rick, Doctor and Won, and hasn't mentioned anything about rings in the marriage process. I really don't think they have anything to do with marriage. =/

On a different note, is it possible for Gray's heart to move above Black if he doesn't go to Mary's Library? (I've given him TONS of gifts and it's still the same color so I'm wondering if I have to unlock that one...even if I don't want to...)

If it turns out that you have all these events and still can't marry him, you may just need to give him more gifts. Even when I got Won at a red heart it took me almost two weeks to convince him to marry me by barraging him with apples and gold. And those are his favorite things, and it still took ages. The marraige system in this game is quite more difficult then the others...x__x

The red heart event with Gray:

You walk into the Blacksmith shop and Saibara will start talking to you, then he'll turn to Gray, and some more dialogue will happen. Then, the screen will turn black and you'll be with Gray at the Inn. He'll ask you a question, and then the event is over.
