I downloaded Pokemon Sapphire.
Within a year, I had bought Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Colosseum, Channel, and of course I had to buy the GC, GBA, and GB Player for GC and various link cables and memory cards, an E-Reader and a bunch of Pokemon Battle-e cards, and I'm about to pre-order Fire Red and Leaf Green. When Emerald comes out, I'm getting that one, too. (Favourite: Ruby. It's my birth cartridge. ^_^)
Even though there are people out there who download the ROMs when they can perfectly afford them and it is a FU to the companies, at least in my case, Nintendo (and the local Kmart) profited from my 100% illegal download of one ROM.
Since then, I *have* downloaded more ROMs, but my financial position (no new clothes since two years ago - busy being Nintendo whore) and global position (Australia) means that most of those I downloaded I'm not able to buy anyway. (The rest I am getting around to. Yes, precious Metroid games, I mean you.)
(And why are GCN games, more often than not, cheaper than GBA games? Valid question here.)
I'm not trying to justify...well, I am, but I know what I'm doing is illegal. Part of me wishes that instead of fighting against ROMs, Nintendo (and Sony, thanks to the PSP) kinda go with the flow and release trial versions for download. That would be cool.
Also, I feel the need to point out something: There's a distinction between commercial (illegal without question) ROMs and freeware ROMs. The freeware ROMs are original games developed by people, usually with no copyright infringements whatsoever. Some of them do (like combo packs "71-NES games in 1" or something like that) but most are original, and non-commercial. Disadvantage with them is I have yet to find a good one. Should figure out how to make my own.

Hey, that's fine. Everyone's moral compass is different. Mine's basically, "Don't draw blood."

I can't wait untill they are able to emulate the GC...
I'm gonna have soooo much fun...
Oh, yes, and I suppose you could call me a FREELOADER. Hey, they can't effectivly enforce the ROM and Emulator legal aspects (if there are any set in stone) so I say download away!
Nintendo is a multi-Billion dollar company. They can afford some ROM downloading. And so far nearly every game I have downloaded to date, I own.
If it makes some people feel better, I promise the day this game comes out, I'll buy it, and not just download the Very Bad Thing (TM).

I think that the Gc emulator and a game for it takes up alot of your computer space. That is mainly why I am going to wait for the games of Hm:fg to arrive!

That is the main drawback... SPACE.
I might have to invest in another whole computer for storage space alone.
I don't know if 13Gb will be enough space for all the GC games I need on the computer...

Still, it takes up alot. Especially if you have alot of games and you play them alot. I only have 2 and they are not on gc.

I haven't heard of anyone getting busted but I haven't played it for a while.
I have the game so it isn't really illegal is it?
Anyway, I am eager to get it!
