I'm thinking about buying an HM game (or MM or whateverrr) (for the first time, actually ) and want to know your preffered games. Tell me tell me, what do you think I'd like? Any HM-related game, really.

If you get bored fast, then stay away from H.M games. I’m attracted to them since the games are original, and no other game is like it. But you’ll get bored fast because it seems like the game is based on “Work! Work! Work!”. I’ve noticed that when I’m done working, there’s nothing else to do in the game. Like I said in the other post, the game leaves you wanting more. I’ve noticed that you can’t really have a best friend in the game, and you can’t really interact with your spouse (or the other towns people for that matter). Everyone is so on a ‘set path’, that it sorta drove me crazy. If you just had to get a H.M game, don’t get any for the GBA, because those are really limited. Try for the one on the G.C. or DS.

Magical Melody for the game cube is good, but I don't think you have a game cube, or a DS, or a GBA for that matter...
I know you have a PS2, so I'll go with that.
Not too long ago, they release A Wonderful Life for the PS2. The Game Cube version is awesome, so the PS2 version has to be good too.
Also there's Save the Homeland. I think that's for PS2...I've heard good things about it, but I've never bought. i wanted to, but I can't due to the location of my PS2...anyhoo, I think you'd like that. Hope that helps ^_^

I recommend Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town. I hated Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life since it focused a lot more on farming and got boring quickly, but if you're more into the farming aspect and want a game with a storyline then you might like it.
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland isn't that great. Outstand graphics and good characters, but you can't get married or anything and it only lasts one year.

Yes, MfoMT was fun. But I hated the fact that it always took years to get certain things, like:
1. If you wanted the Mythic tools, you couldn’t get married in the first year. (Trust me, I tried). Trying to upgrade your tools to get the Mythic tools leaves little room for romance, not to mention it’s a total pain.
2. I found out that if you want your husband to build you a house in the mountains, you have to be married for like 50 years! What! I thought I was doing something if I could make it to 2 years! (Playing 1 year felt like I was playing for 5 years).
3. Trying to play ‘match maker’ took too long. I read somewhere that if you wanted to get the bachelors and bachelorettes married, that it took around 4 years to get them married.(You have to do each heart event like each year..Or something like that).
4. If you don’t have the one for the G.C, you can’t get the house for Kai...Well, you could, it’s just gonna take forever...
I suppose, if you didn't want to get any of those things...Then MFoMT wouldn't be that bad of a game to get for the GBA.

I agree on all of your points.
1. I know you can take advantage of festivals since you don't collapse, but some of them (fishing rod) take forever and it's boring.
2. I strongly agree here. Fifty years is insane, not to mention that Natsume raised the price of the town house from 10,000,000 gold to 100,000,000 when they localized the game. Ten million is easy if you have the patience, but one hundred million seems nearly impossible if you have a busy schedule.
3. I don't mind this as much, but I think it would be better if they had dropped it to whenever you got married.
4. There's always a rental, but it still seems cheap that you have to play it in order to get a house. It's not needed, I know, but if you don't like HM: AnWL then you can't really get it.
5. Fifth point that I just thought of: the mines. It's not hard if you have patience, but still....
Really, no matter which HM game you get there will always be cons. Magical Melody is good, but it seems rushed and there's not a whole lot to do after you're married. Back to Nature was fun, but if you got married then you could keep going to sleep for the rest of the three years and you'd still stay.

(sorry I forgot I'd posted this)
All of those are interesting points, and helpful. I might just try and get past the LarryBoy (from VeggieTales ♥ ) for right now, but I'll consider it again a little later.
