Whaaaaattt?! That's lame. If people think it's so close to same-sex marriages and are homophobic then they can just avoid the game and not buy it. I don't think that it should be such a big issue that they might need to think about NOT translating the games.

I totally agree. It's not like anyone is forcing people to go out, buy the game, and then become friends with one of the female characters.
Really, though I don't think that's what would cause it to not be translated. The thing about the Wikipedia article is that it's just speculation by fans, but what I think would affect the release of the game more would be how well HMDS sells as well as if they plan to bring out other Harvest Moon games. The friend system would probably be a part of it, but I don't think it's the sole cause since it can be taken out.

Some people on FoGU need to grow up. I think it's a cute idea. Just because you're living a friend doesn't mean you're gay or anything and how people think that's gross I have no idea. I actually kinda like the idea. I'm just wondering, though, if that's how the game ends. Kinda like when you marry Jamie. I agree. It sounds like a totally cute idea! =) People just need to grow up about there is nothing wrong with living with a friend!

I used to think that people wouldn't have a problem about living with a roommate, but since this topic was posted I've seen some really extreme things. Some people don't even believe that men should wear necklaces because necklaces because it's effeminate and that's bad, so living with a roommate and having a friendship ceremony? That'll send you straight to Hell! Oh, and the main character wears pants. Sinner! (Note: The pants thing and necklace thing are from a scary, cult-like forum. If anyone wants links send me a PM.) Really, though, I like the idea. Natsume screwed up HMDS, so if it ever does come out at least there will be a way to live with the Witch Princess. And totally random, but I got this advertisement on the first page and on this page. I'm sure most people have since I've seen it a couple of times, but it does fit the theme of this post.

People are so two-faced. Have you seen some of the games that are out now, that are said to be "the best game ever"? Explicit sex and violence, and that's okay. But, God forbid, two girls live together as roommates in a video game.
I'll admit, the first time I saw the description, I thought gay marriage, too, mainly because of the whole "marriage" ceremony. But, after giving it a second look, it sounds exactly like two girls being roommates. Roommates can take care of a child. I wish we could get a petition going for this game to be translated. I would love to have both copies of this game,

The more I think about it, you're right. All the M rated games (And some Teen rated games) are over hyped and not to mentioned praised for the senselessness that's added in the game. Everything in those games serves no purpose, and yet two of the same gender just living together is wrong? I do that a lot on The Sims 2! (The whole roommate thing)
