My friends in my agriculture class are the only girls I know who like it and that was since I let them each play my FOMT for a little bit on a field trip. The rest of my friends think I'm strange for that and many other reasons. The boys at my school make fun of me and call me an Egghead since I play HM, but I just nod my head and smile. I'm used to getting picked on so I always do that and they eventually realize that it doesn't faze me of what they think.

Not a single girl at my school plays video games! Once a girl said this "Who wants to plsy video games? Espcially stupid ones about farming! Ha ha ha!". It gets on my nerves.

yea, i don't know ANY girls at my school who play video games and when i want to talk about them i have to find a guy who's not a complete jerk (a very difficult task at my school) and even then there aren't any guys into HM...so sad...

Nobody at my school plays HM either!
Although a couple of boys play my second favorite game (HM's the first) Final Fantasay Tactics Advance but I don't hang out with them. And of course my friends who are like the oppisite of me don't even know what video games are!

one of my best friends, actually two of them, before we even met where huge fans of HM. It's funny how many people wouldbe interested in that game in Ohio!
We've all played a whole bunch of the versions and it's great. Nobody really thinks that we're weird.

lucky for you then meshellbelle! i'm not so fortunate here in Pennsylvania...but i have met quite a few people interested in final fantasy games (yay! final fantasy! 2nd best games ever!) haha. the world needs more HM fans...at least Pittsburgh does anyway.
oh yea, by the way, your everywhere today meshellbelle, i see your name on like half the topics! haha!

yeah, I've had a boring day in class yesterday.
That was actually my first impression a few years ago about Harvest Moon. I said , Who in their right mind would want to play a game about FARMING!
And then someone had the booklet for the PS version adn I read over it and decided that it was an ultimately cool game and that I HAD to get my hands on it. That was a few years ago and I still play it when I can.
I am guessing that most of you guys are not in high school yet. I'm pretty weird too actually.....
But yeah, if you are open minded you will find some crazy guy(maybe some guy who is LAME but you think he is cool and he listens to hardcore music and his name is Kevin...) who likes HM just as much as you. Lots of people who you wouldn't suspect to play Hm actually play it. It is a big selling game believe it or not.
In any case people don't think that many girls play video games And actually they don't. Go to a video game store and they will tell you too.

In any case people don't think that many girls play video games And actually they don't. Go to a video game store and they will tell you too. Rain has it correct. At least 40% of gamers are girls, and 50% of game purchases are made by females. I saw an article in my newspaper a while ago, and there's one on the Microsoft website. Edit: I also read an article on Gamespot, I think it was, that said that females make up the largest percentage of people who play games online (like puzzle games and stuff). |

it was proven in a study that women play more puzzle games (TETRIS! TETRIS! TETRIS!) compulsively then men do.
(Meaning, women are more likely to get addicted to playing something like Tetris than some car game or whatever)

like no girls in my school play vidio games.....  at least i dont think they do. but mabey they just dont think other girls like vidio games and are too embarassed to say so. but most of them would rather go to the mall or something.... I wish they would play vidio games though, they dont know what their missing!  and i only have one guy friend and i think he thinks i'm wierd for liking vidio games. all the other guys are jerks who say girls cant play vidio games.... i wish i cuold go kick their butts in super smash bros or something. I'm just happy there is people here in these forums who like vidio games and understand me. i dont usually talk about vidio games at school either. and i think what meshellbelle was saying is quite true. most guys like games where you blow up things and blow off peoples heads, like Halo and stuff. however girls like to play more games that they accually use their heads in. my mom was reading this article that said "vidio games can improove your IQ" and it said games like Tetris, HM, ect accually isn't making your brain mush beacuse you are thinking while playing them. but war games and stuff you are not thinking so it's not good to play them that much. I like HM, Sims and Tetris but i also like racing games and super smash bros and stuff. I'm a tomboy, so i always get teesed for liking vidio games. but i've learnt to ignore everyone that makes fun of me. besides, i'm tough.  |
